Camping under the Stars
The area around Tanhau is gorgeous for camping out overnight, and we have a variety of spots that you could choose from based on your appetite for adventure as well as your fitness level. If you want to have a truly ‘wild’ experience, there are spots that offer you a great chance to ebe close to the forest at night. On the other hand, if you want to just have a fun camping experience with the kids where they also learn how to set up a tent etc, we can easily organize that as well. However we restrict the maximum group size to 4 guests.
We take care not to either disturb wildlife or the forest in any way, so we don’t do ‘luxury’ camping or glamping at all. If you choose to go camping in an adventurous spot with us, a couple of our staff members will accompany you. We will make sure to reach the spot well before sundown so that we can set up the tents before it gets dark. We do not cook food during the camping trip as it both disturbs as well as attracts animals. Instead we will carry along a packed dinner of sandwiches, fruits etc. There will be sleeping bags/ mats for you to sleep on, but no washroom other than the great outdoors. Camping is chargable and based on location and number of guests.
Hearing alarm calls and other sounds of the jungle as the day comes to an end is quite another experience while sitting outside your tent. And the evenings spent under the million stars are, of course, magical. Join us on one of these experiences to truly enjoy nature and wildlife away from the madding crowd. Please note that camping, especially in locations near the forest may not always be possible/ advisable depending on the weather conditions, wildlife movement and other factors. If you are very keen on camping, do check with us at the time of planning your trip on whether it will be possible.
