No. Tanhau is not inside the national park. It is situated in the forested hills above the national park, within driving distance of several safari zones of Jim Corbett National Park. The buffer forests of Corbett National Park come right till the property.

Tanhau currently has only two independent guest cottages — Bagh and Chukar - ensuring privacy, quiet and an intimate forest experience.

Yes. Guests can go on jeep safaris into Jim Corbett National Park. Several safari zones can be accessed within driving distance from the property.

However, we are located relatively far from some of the safari gates - so if your primary aim is to do multiple safaris inside the national park, Tanhau’s location may not work for you.

Please note that safari bookings open 45 days in advance and there are limited safari slots - so it is important to book safaris well in advance of your trip to get access to preferred safari zones.

The final approach to the property is via an uphill forest track that requires a 4WD vehicle. Guests are transferred from a designated parking point in Tanhau vehicles.

Tanhau welcomes families with nature-curious children. However, due to the hilly terrain, forest setting and wildlife movement in the area, younger guests need to be supervised by their parents.
