Wilderness Sundowners

Most of the most memorable moments at Tanhau unfold not inside walls, but under open skies.

As the sun begins to dip behind the forested ridges of Jim Corbett National Park, the landscape softens into gold and shadow. A wilderness sundowner at Tanhau is designed around this hour - when the air cools, birds settle, and the forest begins to stir.

With a drink in hand and light refreshments laid out in a clearing next to the property, you watch the sun set & the day recede across the valley below. On some evenings, the stillness is punctuated by the alarm call of a sambar deer, or perhaps even the sawing of a leopard.

Breakfast by the Forest

Our bush breakfast is served in the quiet of the forest, surrounded by birdsong. It is an unhurried start to the day - tea or coffee steaming gently in the cool air, a simple but thoughtfully prepared breakfast laid out overlooking the valley.

You may hear a great hornbill calling from the valley below, while minivets fly around overhead. If you are lucky, you might even catch distant movement in the forest below.

It is a great way to ease into the day and the landscape.
